shooting sports club membersMembers of the Camden County 4-H Shooting Sports Club await their turn at the Regional Competition held this past weekend.

The Camden County 4-H Shooting Sports Club recently participated in the Eastern Regional 4-H Shooting Sports Competition held at the Eastern 4-H Center in Columbia, North Carolina. Participants competed against other 4-H members from across Eastern North Carolina in shotgun, muzzleloading, rifle, archery, air rifle, and .22 small-bore pistol divisions.

The Camden Senior Elite Team of Beau Smith, Justin Berry, Ethan Howard, and Madison Tanner placed Gold in the Senior Shotgun Division, Silver in Senior Muzzleloading, and Silver in Senior Rifle Open Class. They will be competing at the state level in these events. Justin Berry also placed Silver overall in the Senior Shotgun Division.

The Camden Senior Elite Archers team of Beau Smith, Justin Berry and Ethan Howard placed Gold in Senior Archery Compound Hunter/Sporter and Archery Compound Match and will go on to compete at the state level. Ethan Howard placed Gold in Archery Compound Match and Silver in Senior Archery Compound Hunter/Sporter. Justin Berry placed Bronze in Senior Archery Compound Hunter/Sporter.

The Camden Junior Rifle A team of Jacob Meads, Caleb Howard, Abbigail Barry, Jake Bray, and Nathan Tanner placed Bronze in the Junior Rifle, Telescopic Class. The Camden Junior Rifle B team of Ariana Dudley, Nathan Tanner, and Gage Sawyer placed Bronze in the Junior Rifle Open Class. Both teams will compete at the state level.

Caleb Howard received Bronze and Silver honors for Junior Archery Compound and Junior Air Pistol and will be advancing to state competition in these divisions, as well as the Junior Archery Recurve division. Ian Riveria will compete at the state level in Junior Archery Compound.

All of the Camden County participants qualified for state competition which will be held on September 21, 2019, in Ellerbe, North Carolina.
